[Financial News] Key executives including Park Ji-won, Vice Chairman of Doosan Group, are visiting Silicon Valley in the USA to plan an AI innovation roadmap. The goal is to achieve AI transformation (AX) and performance creation throughout the entire business process, from manufacturing sites to office areas. The management plans to visit global leading AI companies such as NVIDIA, Amazon, and Perplexity to confirm technology trends and explore collaboration plans.
Confirming AI Innovation at NVIDIA and Amazon
Doosan Group announced on the 23rd that Vice Chairman Park Ji-won and CEOs of subsidiaries will visit companies at the forefront of the global AI industry, such as Amazon, NVIDIA, and Perplexity, in Seattle and Silicon Valley, USA, from the 22nd to the 25th (local time). Accompanying them are Jeong Yeon-in, Vice Chairman of Doosan Enerbility, Yoo Seung-woo, President of Doosan Corporation, Kim Min-pyo, Vice President of Doosan Robotics, and each company's CSO, including Kim Do-won, Chief Strategy Officer of the holding company.
This business trip is analyzed as a move to plan an 'AI Innovation Roadmap' with the goal of securing a competitive edge in the AI era. The aim is to achieve innovation across all areas, not only by adopting and utilizing the latest technologies but also by securing AI experts, building an AI-friendly organizational culture, and advancing AI-based work processes. Vice Chairman Park emphasized to the accompanying management, "We must integrate AI in all possible areas to stay ahead in the competition," adding, "There is not much time left."
The first visit on the 22nd was to Amazon headquarters in Seattle. The management reviewed AI-based manufacturing and office productivity improvement project cases, visited logistics centers to confirm AI and robotics technologies applied on-site, and explored collaboration plans. Based on this, they plan to derive AI innovation tasks and productivity improvement challenges across all parts of the company, not just in manufacturing.
Subsequently, they will visit NVIDIA, leading the AI ecosystem, to confirm the current status and cases of agentic AI and physical AI, and discuss and collaborate on the vision and future strategy of physical AI for each business division. Doosan, engaged in energy and construction machinery, is focusing on 'physical AI.' This visit to NVIDIA by the management and future collaboration is expected to accelerate this focus further.
Sharing AI Insights at Stanford University
Continuing, they will meet with key researchers, including Professor Choi Ye-jin, at Stanford HAI, with which Doosan has an industry-academia partnership, to discuss the overall current status of AI technology in depth. Professor Choi was recognized for her influence by being named one of the '100 Most Influential People in AI' by Time magazine in 2023 and 2025.
During this meeting, Doosan's management will share insights on the direction of AI technology development applicable to fields such as robotics and traditional manufacturing, and confirm the research results of HAI related to Doosan's business.
In addition, they plan to discuss collaboration and build networks for rapid decision-making with various startups and expert groups related to AI, such as physical intelligence, Perplexity, and fields like manufacturing, office, investment, and HR.
A Doosan representative said, "Doosan has been strengthening AI-related organizations and providing intensive AI training for management," adding, "The management of each company will accelerate AI innovation with this business trip and will seek ways to enhance competitiveness in actual business from multiple angles."
