KOSPI, Another All-Time High... Samsung Electronics Settles at 83rd Floor [fn Closing Market]

[Financial News] The KOSPI index hit another all-time high on the 22nd.
According to the Korea Exchange, the KOSPI closed at 3468.65, up 0.68% from the previous trading day. At one point during the day, the KOSPI soared to 3482.25, setting new all-time highs for both the closing and intraday prices.
In the stock market, foreigners and institutions net bought 549.7 billion won and 295 billion won worth of shares, respectively. On the other hand, individuals net sold 870.6 billion won worth of shares.
Among the top market cap stocks, Samsung Electronics stood out with a 4.77% increase from the previous trading day. Reports that Samsung Electronics' 5th generation high bandwidth memory (HBM), HBM3E 12-layer product, passed NVIDIA's quality test boosted the stock price. Morgan Stanley's 12% upward revision of the target price for Samsung Electronics also positively influenced investor sentiment.
Additionally, Hyundai Motor (1.87%), HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (0.91%), and Doosan Enerbility (2.63%) closed higher. Conversely, SK Hynix (-0.57%), LG Energy Solution (-0.14%), and Celltrion (-1.05%) closed lower.
By sector, electronics (2.26%), medical precision instruments (1.39%), and manufacturing (1.22%) rose. On the other hand, telecommunications (-1.64%), metals (-1.21%), and transportation and warehousing (-1.21%) closed lower.
Jaewon Lee, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., stated, "The semiconductor rally, which took a break, resumed with the surge in Samsung Electronics," adding, "Micron's performance is a crucial short-term turning point for the continuation of the semiconductor rally."
On this day, the KOSDAQ index closed at 874.36, up 1.30% from the previous trading day.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals net bought 175.7 billion won worth of shares. In contrast, foreigners and institutions sold 77.3 billion won and 13.6 billion won worth of shares, respectively.
