[Financial News] Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of HYBE, appeared on the 22nd for a police investigation related to allegations of violating the Capital Market Act.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that Bang appeared as a suspect at around 10 a.m. This is the second time following his public appearance on the 15th.
Bang is accused of transferring shares to a special purpose company (SPC) of a private equity fund (PEF) established by an acquaintance after informing existing investors that there was no plan for an initial public offering (IPO) before HYBE's listing in 2019, thereby gaining an unfair profit of about 190 billion won.
The police seized and searched the Korea Exchange in June to secure listing review materials, and in July, they also conducted a search and seizure at HYBE's headquarters.
