[Financial News] Ahn Gyu-baek, Minister of National Defense, who is visiting Saudi Arabia, held talks with Abdullah bin Bandar, Minister of National Guard of Saudi Arabia, on the afternoon of the 21st (local time) in the capital Riyadh, and discussed in-depth ways to cooperate in defense and defense industry.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 22nd, Minister Ahn said in this local meeting, "I am pleased to visit Saudi Arabia as the first country in the Middle East region after taking office," and "The two countries are future-oriented strategic partners, and Korea is a key partner in 'Saudi Vision 2030', with cooperation in defense and defense industry steadily increasing."
In response, Minister Bandar of the National Guard said, "I welcome Minister Ahn's visit to Saudi Arabia and hope that this meeting will further develop the relationship between the two countries."
Minister Ahn explained the excellence of K-defense industry and expressed the willingness of the Korean Ministry of National Defense to cooperate. At the same time, he proposed to actively expand mutually beneficial defense industry cooperation between the two countries.
Furthermore, the two ministers agreed to meet again soon to review the ongoing personnel exchanges and military education, and to closely communicate on major security issues.
In particular, Minister Ahn proposed expanding mutual trust and cooperation, including personnel exchanges and military education between the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Korea and the National Guard of Saudi Arabia, and Minister Bandar also agreed to actively cooperate, according to the Ministry of National Defense.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense has continued to cooperate with our Ministry of National Defense in the field of defense and defense industry. This meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity to expand cooperation to the National Guard of Saudi Arabia.
