Specific schedule under discussion
Special Prosecutor Park Ji-young stated at a regular media briefing held at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 19th, "We are currently discussing specific schedules with the defense counsel," and "the visit investigation was agreed upon to some extent at the request of Kim Yong-hyeon, and the schedule is currently being coordinated."
Previously, the special prosecutor team notified former Minister Kim, who is detained on charges including rebellion important mission involvement, to appear at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office at 10 a.m. on the 19th for investigation. Former Minister Kim's side refused, citing the tight notification of the investigation schedule, and requested a visit investigation to the detention center, which the special prosecutor team accepted.
The special prosecutor team plans to investigate whether the 'Pyongyang Drone Infiltration Operation' conducted in October-November last year was part of the so-called 'North Wind' aimed at provoking North Korea to justify the 12·3 Martial Law.
The special prosecutor team is reportedly suspecting former President Yoon Seok-yeol, former Minister Kim, former Drone Operations Commander Kim Yong-dae, and former Joint Chiefs of Staff Operations Headquarters Director Lee Seung-oh as co-conspirators in relation to the allegations.
