[Financial News] Kim Dong-won (41), who killed three people with a weapon at a pizza shop in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, has been handed over to the prosecution.
Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced on the morning of the 19th that Kim, who is accused of murder, was arrested and sent to the prosecution.
A police official stated, "The suspect harbored dissatisfaction related to repair (A/S) issues after interior construction and hid the weapon inside the store a day before the crime," adding, "It is understood that the suspect covered the internal CC (closed-circuit) TV before committing the crime."
Kim is accused of attacking and killing three people, including employee A from the headquarters and B and C, who are an interior contractor and his daughter, with a weapon in the kitchen of the franchise pizza shop he operates in Jowon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, on the 3rd.
Kim attempted to take his own life immediately after the crime, sustained serious injuries, received treatment at a hospital, and was arrested by the police after being discharged.
The court issued an arrest warrant for Kim on the 12th, citing the risk of flight.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency disclosed Kim's identity on the 16th, judging that the severity of the damage and the brutality of the crime were recognized.
