[Financial News] An incident occurred in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where citizens were stung by bees.
On the 19th, according to the Gangnam Fire Station in Seoul, six citizens were stung by bees near Yangjaecheon, Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu at 4:59 PM the previous day.
They sustained minor injuries and were all transported to the hospital. It is reported that there is no threat to their lives.
The dispatched fire authorities set up a control line at the scene and took safety measures such as removing the beehive.
The fire authorities advised extra caution as bee sting incidents are frequent in autumn. Bees become more aggressive during the spawning and winter preparation period from September to October than in summer, and they can easily attack people approaching their nests, perceiving them as threats. Especially on hiking trails, riverbanks, and parks, there are many beehives, so citizens need to be particularly careful.
To engage in outdoor activities safely, one should △ not approach a beehive if found △ avoid strong perfumes or dark-colored items like hair ties and hats △ not leave food or sweet drinks unattended outdoors △ if a bee clings to you, do not swat or provoke it, but slowly lower your body and move away. The fire authorities warned that attempting to remove a beehive directly is very dangerous and requested that any discovery be reported to 119 immediately.
