Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor, Reattempts Search and Seizure of People's Power 'Party Member List'

[Financial News] The Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor team (Min Jung-gi special prosecutor) has once again launched a search and seizure against the People's Power in connection with the 'Unification Church group admission allegations'.
The special prosecutor team has been conducting a search and seizure since the morning of the 18th by sending investigators to the People's Power central party headquarters located in Yeouido, Seoul.
The special prosecutor team believes that Yoon Young-ho, former head of the Unification Church World Headquarters, along with Geonjin Beopsa Jeon Seong-bae, mobilized Unification Church members to elect Kwon Seong-dong as the party representative during the People's Power national convention in 2023. The special prosecutor team views that Mrs. Kim mentioned Kwon's election to Mr. Jeon and requested it from Mr. Yoon. In reality, as Kwon did not run for the party representative election, it is reported that the special prosecutor team has obtained statements that Mr. Yoon tried to elect Kim Gi-hyeon as the representative.
The special prosecutor team attempted a search and seizure against the People's Power on the 14th and 18th of last month, but it was thwarted as the People's Power opposed it citing personal information. The special prosecutor team insists that the party member list is essential to compare with the Unification Church roster. As Song Won-seok, the floor leader, also requested assembly from lawmakers on this day, another clash is expected.
