[Financial News] #. If you input to a conversational AI agent 'This weekend, a family of four plans to watch a newly released movie at the theater and then eat pasta at a nearby restaurant. Please make a reservation within a total budget of 200,000 won', the AI agent can interact with theater and restaurant platforms to make reservations (conditional contracts) and pay with stablecoin. Such an era is approaching.

Google, which has surpassed a 'global market capitalization of 3 trillion dollars', has announced a payment system combining artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual assets such as stablecoins. Following the recent announcement of plans to build blockchain financial infrastructure through Google Cloud, Google has now introduced AI-based e-commerce (AI commerce) in collaboration with Coinbase, Ethereum Foundation, MetaMask (ConsenSys), and others. AI commerce payments and fee settlements between businesses are conducted in real-time through Circle USDC, indicating that the influence of dollar stablecoins is expected to expand further.
On the 16th (local time), Google announced its own 'Agent Payment Protocol (AP2)' and stated this.
Starvan Parikh, Google's Vice President (VP/GM), said, "AP2 is an open protocol supporting agent-driven payments across platforms," adding, "We are working with more than 60 diverse organizations, including Coinbase, Mastercard, and PayPal, to create the future of AI agent payments."
AP2 supports various payment types, including credit/debit card payments, real-time bank transfers, as well as stablecoins and virtual assets. Regarding this, Prakar Mehrotra, Senior Vice President (Global AI Head) of global fintech company PayPal, evaluated through Google's blog that "AP2 provides an important foundation for trusted agent payments" and "provides the clarity that the ecosystem desperately needed regarding the facilitation of trusted transactions."

Google's AP2 is linked with the efforts of big tech companies like Apple, Meta, and Amazon to integrate stablecoins. This is why there is a prediction that stablecoins will become popular through AI commerce. The Ethereum Foundation, related to Ethereum, the second largest global virtual asset by market capitalization, has also launched a new 'dAI (Decentralized AI) team' to integrate AI and blockchain, in the same context. Through the so-called 'Ethereum AI economy', the plan is for AI agents to make payments without intermediaries and follow pre-coordinated rules. Additionally, the goal is to enhance the transparency and security of AI commerce by developing a standard (ERC-8004) that proves the identity and reliability of AI agents.
Meanwhile, interest is gathering in 'IMPACT (KBW2025:IMPACT)', which will be held under the theme of 'Convergence of Virtual Assets and AI' on the 23rd and 24th at the Walkerhill Hotel & Resort in Seoul. At KBW2025:IMPACT, the main conference of 'Korea Blockchain Week 2025 (KBW2025)', Asia's largest Web3 conference to be held in Seoul from the 22nd to the 28th, the 'Gaia AI Smartphone' will also be unveiled for the first time. Matt Wright, CEO of the decentralized AI infrastructure project Gaia, will present a customized AI agent model through a user data-based distributed AI platform.
