20s Sentenced to Prison for Swinging Soju Bottle and Throwing Kitchen Knife at Police Officer

Charges of Special Obstruction of Official Duties and Obstruction of Official Duties
According to the legal community on the 18th, the Seoul Northern District Court Criminal Division 14 (Judge Kang Kyung-mook) sentenced Mr. A (22), who was charged with special obstruction of official duties and obstruction of official duties, to 1 year and 2 months in prison on the 9th. The kitchen knife used in the crime was also confiscated.
Mr. A was brought to trial on charges of swinging a soju bottle and threatening with a kitchen knife while intoxicated. He was also charged with kicking a police officer in the leg and abdomen a total of 3 times while being arrested as a red-handed criminal.
According to the prosecution, Mr. A passed by a patrol car parked in front of a police substation at around 10:50 PM on April 6th and spilled milk in front of it. It was investigated that he threw a milk carton at police officers who asked if he needed help and also swung a soju bottle.
He is known to have approached three police officers who accompanied him to his residence for protection, holding a kitchen knife with a total length of 24 cm and a blade length of 13 cm, threatening them. When the police officers, feeling threatened, blocked the door from opening, he scratched around the front door with the kitchen knife and turned the handle, threatening them.
Mr. A was found to have thrown the kitchen knife at police officers who demanded he drop it while aiming a taser at him. After being arrested as a red-handed criminal, he assaulted a police officer who accompanied him to the bathroom for custody management, hitting the officer's thigh and abdomen a total of 3 times.
He had a criminal record, having been sentenced to 4 months in prison with a 2-year probation for obstruction of official duties at the Seoul Central District Court on June 20th, with the verdict confirmed on the 8th of last month.
The court stated, "He committed the crime while undergoing an appeal trial after being sentenced for a separate obstruction of official duties crime," and "The nature of the crime is very poor, and the possibility of reoffending is not low."
