KOSPI Reaches New High Again with U.S. Tailwind... Touches 3450 Mark [fn Afternoon Market]

[Financial News] KOSPI has renewed its all-time high for five consecutive trading days.
According to the Korea Exchange on the 16th, as of 1:41 PM, KOSPI is trading at 3448.29, up 40.99p (1.20%) from the previous day. The index started at 3421.13, up 13.82p (0.41%) from the previous session, and expanded its gains, rising to as high as 3452.50 during the day.
In the stock market, foreigners and institutions net bought 1.1792 trillion won and 228.1 billion won respectively, while individuals net sold 1.4086 trillion won.
By industry, electricity/electronics (2.83%), machinery/equipment (2.74%), and manufacturing (1.82%) are strong, while non-metal (-2.29%), medical/precision instruments (-1.05%), and food/tobacco (-0.83%) are weak.
Among the top market cap stocks, SK Hynix (5.74%), Doosan Enerbility (5.44%), and Hanwha Aerospace (4.77%) are on the rise, while Kakao (-1.88%), Kia (-0.59%), and KB Financial (-0.59%) are declining.
At the same time, KOSDAQ is trading at 852.06, down 0.62p (0.07%) from the previous day. Individuals net bought 3.08 trillion won, while foreigners and institutions net sold 2.426 trillion won and 376 billion won respectively.
Jae-Won Lee, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., said, "Foreigners have been net buying KOSPI spot for seven consecutive trading days, with a continued focus on large semiconductor stocks. It is expected that there will be fluctuations within a narrow range before the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), with additional upward momentum likely to come from progress in tariff negotiations and the announcement of third-quarter corporate earnings starting next month."
