[Financial News] Kim Bo-hyeop, former chief spokesperson of the National Innovation Party, has been handed over to the prosecution on charges of sexual misconduct within the party.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit announced on the 16th that Mr. Kim was sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of indecent assault.
Kang Mi-jung, former spokesperson of the National Innovation Party, filed a complaint against Mr. Kim in April for alleged misconduct using his position of power at the Seoul Jongno Police Station. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency took over the case and conducted a direct investigation.
The complaint reportedly contains allegations that Mr. Kim committed indecent acts, such as wrapping his arm around a waist in a taxi last July and in a karaoke room last December.
On the 14th, Mr. Kim denied the allegations on his social networking service (SNS), stating, "There was no sexual harassment or misconduct as claimed by the complainant."
