Key figures, including Namgung Pyo, Head of Marketing at Lotte Duty Free, visited Guangzhou and Qingdao in China from the 10th to the 12th.
In line with the implementation of the visa-free policy for Chinese group tourists and the Chinese National Day holiday, Lotte Duty Free met with about 30 local travel agencies and major partners to discuss joint cooperation measures, such as providing special benefits for group tourists.
Additionally, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Guangzhou CITS Travel Agency and Qingdao Tourism Group to further strengthen local partnerships.
According to an analysis of sales from group tourists visiting Lotte Duty Free in the first half of this year, the proportion of group tourists from second-tier cities or third-tier cities, including Qingdao, Hangzhou, and Chengdu, is on the rise.
Lotte Duty Free explained that there has been a balanced increase in sales in various product categories, including cosmetics, fashion, souvenirs, and food.
Lotte Duty Free is pursuing initiatives such as discovering new agents by city, developing customized products, and establishing region-specific marketing models to keep pace with these changes.
They plan to expand their cooperation network to regions such as central and western China.
Lotte Duty Free will carry out various marketing and cooperation projects to attract foreign tourists.
On the 18th, they will invite over 200 tourist interpreters from Chinese, Japanese, and Southeast Asian language regions to introduce major duty-free shops, brands, and benefits.
Mr. Nam stated, "The visa-free entry for Chinese group tourists will be a positive turning point for the domestic tourism industry and the duty-free sector," adding, "We will provide a differentiated shopping experience for tourists visiting Korea during the National Day period."
