High School Student Urgently Arrested for Attempting to Abduct Female Elementary Student

[Financial News]  Gyeonggi Gwangmyeong Police announced on the 9th that they have urgently arrested and are investigating high school student A on charges of attempted abduction of a minor.
A is accused of following elementary student B out of an elevator in an apartment in Gwangmyeong City at around 4:20 PM the previous day, covering her mouth, and attempting to drag her away.
He fled when B cried loudly and resisted.
Later, B informed her parents of the incident, and after checking the elevator CCTV, the parents reported it to the police at around 6:55 PM on the same day.
The dispatched police confirmed A's identity and arrested him at his home at around 9:45 PM.
The police plan to investigate A's motive for the crime and receive a victim statement from B through the Sunflower Center.
A police official stated, "It has not yet been investigated whether the victim and perpetrator were acquainted or the purpose of the crime," adding, "As the suspect is also a minor, investigation is not possible at night, so it will be conducted during the daytime."
