Former Prime Minister Han appeared for investigation on the afternoon of the 9th at the Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Team located in the KT Gwanghwamun Building West, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Former Prime Minister Han entered without answering questions such as 'Was there any involvement of former President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife in the appointment of former Chief Secretary Park Seong-geun?', 'Did you know that Seohee Construction gave money to Mrs. Kim?'.
Former Prime Minister Han is mentioned in the 'bribery allegations' of Lee Bong-gwan, chairman of Seohee Construction. Chairman Lee was confirmed to have personally delivered the so-called 'NATO Tour 3-piece Set', including a Van Cleef & Arpels necklace, to Mrs. Kim Geon-hee in 2022, while requesting the appointment of his son-in-law, former prosecutor Park Seong-geun. This information was revealed through a confession letter submitted by Chairman Lee to the special prosecutor team. Four months later, former prosecutor Park was appointed as the chief secretary of former Prime Minister Han.
As former Prime Minister Han stated that he appointed former prosecutor Park upon the recommendation of former President Yoon, the special prosecutor team is expected to question whether former Prime Minister Han proceeded with the appointment despite knowing these facts.
