Participating in 'Gastech' in Milan, Italy.. Obtained a total of 36 certifications and signed MOUs
[Financial News] HD Hyundai is showcasing future gas carrier technology with the full participation of executives and staff from sales, R&D, and engineering, including Vice Chairman Jung Ki-sun. They will introduce their eco-friendly technology to major shipping companies and classification societies and propose development plans for the shipbuilding and shipping industries.
HD Hyundai announced that it will participate in 'Gastech 2025' held in Milan, Italy, from the 9th to the 12th. Gastech is considered the world's largest gas exhibition. Over 1,000 companies from around the world are expected to participate, and more than 50,000 visitors are anticipated.
This exhibition will feature six affiliates, including HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Mipo, HD Hyundai Samho, HD Hyundai Marine Solutions, and HD Hyundai Electric. During the exhibition, HD Hyundai will receive technology certifications from global classification societies and participate in a total of 36 events, including signing MOUs with companies.
HD Hyundai will receive basic certification for future gas carriers applying △forecastle accommodation and △wind-assisted propulsion devices from DNV (Det Norske Veritas) of Norway. This design places the crew accommodation at the front of the ship to secure additional space on the upper deck, allowing for multiple wind-assisted propulsion devices to enhance fuel efficiency.
They will also receive certification for AI-based solutions that reduce fuel consumption. HD Hyundai will receive basic certification from ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) for the VesselWise solution, which autonomously optimizes equipment operation without crew intervention, and a product design evaluation for the AI-CHS solution, which suggests optimal usage of boil-off gas during operation.
They will also collaborate to demonstrate AI solutions that assist in responding to fire accidents on ships. They will sign an MOU with Consilium of Sweden to integrate and demonstrate the video fire detection function of the Integrated Safety Management Solution (HiCAMS) with the ship's existing fire detection system.
HD Hyundai will also sign an MOU with Lloyd's Register (LR) to conduct a joint development project to convert LPG carriers to ammonia dual fuel. Through this project, they will apply their self-developed ammonia fuel supply system.
On the 10th, they will hold a technology seminar for shipping companies and classification societies. Through this seminar, they will introduce HD Hyundai's development status of eco-friendly and AI technologies to accelerate the era of eco-friendly and efficient future gas carriers.
An HD Hyundai representative said, "HD Hyundai possesses optimal ship technology that maximizes performance while meeting environmental regulations," and added, "We will continue to lead the era of carbon-neutral ships through continuous investment and technology development."
