Assemblyman Jeon emphasized through a press release that "Gyeonggi-do already possesses the largest innovation ecosystem in Korea centered around Pangyo Techno Valley," and stated, "We must institutionalize this and develop it into a platform that can lead global discourse."
He also suggested the idea of utilizing Pangyo to make it an innovation hub in Asia.
Assemblyman Jeon referred to "Pangyo as Korea's Silicon Valley and Asia's new growth hub," stating that "startups and unicorn companies leading future industries such as artificial intelligence, biohealth, and mobility are concentrated there. However, Pangyo currently lacks a global stage connected to the world, and as a strategy to complement this, the 'Asia Future Forum' must be established," he explained.
Regarding the function and role of the 'Asia Future Forum', he argued for △ Global discourse production: presenting key agendas such as AI ethics, carbon neutrality, digital governance △ Industry-policy linkage: designing policy roadmaps with startups, large companies, academia, and government △ Establishing an Asian network: linking with innovative cities in Japan, China, and Southeast Asia to leap to 'Asia's Davos'.
Especially, Assemblyman Jeon plans to annually focus on artificial intelligence (AI) as the main agenda and connect it to various industries such as healthcare, smart city, and mobility.
In addition, Assemblyman Jeon stated that the Asia Future Forum "should be established centered on the Gyeonggi-do Startup Council, which currently consists of unicorn companies, SMEs, and startups in Gyeonggi-do," and "only by combining the creativity of the private sector with public support can we gain global competitiveness, and through year-round workshops, international exchanges, and investor-policy maker cooperation, we must achieve practical results."
Assemblyman Jeon emphasized, "Just as the Davos Forum made Switzerland the center of the world, the Gyeonggi-do Future Forum will make Pangyo and Gyeonggi-do the capital of Asia's future industries," and "now is the time to challenge. The Asia Future Forum will be the central axis of Asian innovation starting from Gyeonggi-do, and a 'Big Thinking for Asia’s Future' for global solidarity and future generations," he emphasized.
