[Financial News] The Korea Fashion Association and Hyundai Department Store showcased domestic brands on the stage of 'Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 Autumn/Winter (TGC)', Japan's largest fashion event, proving the competitiveness of K-fashion.
The Korea Fashion Association announced on the 8th that 20,000 people attended the event held on the 6th at Saitama Super Arena in Japan, and 5 million people watched the live online broadcast.
The association stated that this stage is the result of the 'K-Fashion Promotion MOU' signed by both companies last year. Four brands selected through the 'K-Fashion Audition' - Trimmingbird, Rest & Recreation, Ohhesio, and The Barnet - participated, presenting the theme 'Excited by K-Fashion Now' with the concept 'Different Styles. Same Power'.
The brands captivated the audience with their sensuous designs and unique styling, according to the association. A Japanese consumer who enjoys wearing Korean brands locally said, "The trendy yet comfortable charm was definitely felt," and "I hope to encounter such brands more often in Japan in the future."
An association official stated, "These are brands already gaining popularity among the Japanese MZ generation through social networking services (SNS), and this stage provided an opportunity to expand their online recognition offline," adding, "We also expect practical export expansion and brand recognition enhancement through a pop-up store to be held in mid-month in Tokyo."
Sung Rae-eun, Chairman of the Korea Fashion Association, said, "Based on the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's global brand development project, we will expand opportunities for K-fashion's overseas advancement," and "We plan to establish a stable and sustainable overseas expansion platform in collaboration with Hyundai Department Store."
