[Financial News] The police have identified that a total of 45 people have been investigated in relation to the allegations of nominee stock transactions by independent member of parliament Lee Choon-seok. They refrained from commenting on reports that the scale of the stock transactions exceeds 1 billion won.
Park Hyun-soo, acting commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, held a regular briefing on the 8th and said, "We are continuing to investigate the details of the stock transactions of this member of parliament," and stated this.
Regarding the media reports that this member of parliament purchased stocks worth over 1 billion won under a nominee, he repeatedly drew a line, saying, "As it is an ongoing investigation, we cannot confirm it."
A representative from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said, "The fact that transactions of a significantly large scale have been made compared to the disclosed asset size raises considerable concerns about reproducing various suspicions," and "I believe it is appropriate to speak after these parts are reasonably explained and clarified," he closed his mouth.
He added, "I would like to mention that we are thoroughly investigating by questioning a large number of 45 people in a short period of time."
This member of parliament was caught in controversy last month when he was spotted trading AI-related stocks under the name of an aide at the National Assembly plenary session. The police are investigating whether political funds were included in the amount deposited into the account and are examining the possibility of violating the Political Funds Act or the Anti-Graft Act.
The police announced plans to summon singer Psy (Park Jae-sang, 48), who is accused of proxy drug prescriptions.
Acting Commissioner Park said, "The investigation and analysis of seized items related to the parties involved are ongoing, and we are investigating how the prescriptions were issued," and regarding the plan to summon Psy, he said, "Of course, there is."
Regarding the allegations of pressure for the 'Neulbom School' contest by the President's Office and Ribax School, they explained that they are continuing the analysis after receiving related materials from the Ministry of Education, and have already conducted investigations on 9 people involved.
