[Financial News] Mr. A, who runs a restaurant near Yongsan Station in Seoul, recently experienced something unbelievable. He found out later that the elderly man he had kindly seen off after asking for help had actually stolen his belongings.
According to the video released on the 8th by JTBC's 'Case Manager', an elderly man who visited Mr. A's restaurant on the afternoon of the 31st last month ordered budae jjigae and makgeolli and finished his meal. He then asked, "Where can I catch the subway to Suwon?" and Mr. A personally guided him near the station.
However, when Mr. A returned to the restaurant, he found that the Bluetooth earphones he had left on the table were gone. Initially thinking it was a simple loss, he checked the CCTV and found that the elderly man had discreetly taken them.
Mr. A immediately reported to the police and submitted the video. It is known that the police plan to secure additional CCTV from the building and look into the transportation card usage records of the elderly man.
Mr. A expressed his dismay, saying, "I think we might not catch him," but added, "It was shocking that he could steal and then have a conversation as if nothing happened, and that I even personally saw him off. I feel like I was backstabbed after showing goodwill."
