【Financial News Jeonju=Kang In Reporter】 Jeonju City in Jeonbuk is expanding special public transport routes for soccer fans hoping for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC's victory, as they lead the K-League.

According to Jeonju City on the 7th, with Jeonbuk Hyundai's early victory becoming more likely, they plan to expand special routes between major city hubs and the stadium for home games held at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on the 13th and 20th.

This is because Jeonbuk Hyundai, leading the league, is expected to secure early victory with consecutive home games, and the city has significantly expanded public transport support to share this historic moment with citizens.

Especially as many soccer fans are expected to gather for these two games held in September, when the heat subsides, the city will increase the number of eco-friendly hydrogen buses from the existing 8-14 to 15, and electric village buses for the Innovation and Manseong districts from 1 to 2.

The special routes will be extended to operate until the K1 League regular round in October and the final round in November, supporting more citizens to enjoy Jeonbuk Hyundai games safely and comfortably until the end of the 2025 season. The routes will run from Pyeonghwa-dong terminal through Hanok Village, intercity and express bus terminals, the comprehensive stadium, and Jeonbuk National University to the World Cup Stadium, with intensive operation every 10 minutes starting 2 hours before the game to improve stadium accessibility.

A Jeonju City official said, “As the hot summer passes and the season for enjoying outdoor activities arrives, we will focus on supporting public transport at festival and event sites,” adding, “We will do our best to help citizens move conveniently while expanding public transport use to achieve carbon neutrality.”
