Samsung Electronics has presented an aggressive goal to capture the future premium AI appliance market with its 'Ambient AI Home' strategy.
Kim Cheolgi, Head of Home Appliances (DA) Division (Vice President) of Samsung Electronics, revealed at the 'Samsung Press Conference' held in Berlin, Germany, on the 4th (local time), attended by 800 domestic and foreign media and partners, the plan to compete in the premium market based on Ambient AI that can provide 'hyper-personalized experiences' to users. This event was held ahead of the opening of Europe's largest home appliance exhibition 'IFA 2025' in Berlin, Germany. During the approximately 1-hour event, attendees raised their cameras to take photos or applauded whenever AI home solutions and new products were unveiled.
Samsung's Ambient AI Home refers to a situation where the AI system naturally integrates into daily life. Intuitive design is key. The goal is for AI to accurately grasp subtle user actions and usage patterns such as temperature, lighting, sound, and movement, providing real-time personalized services. Vice President Kim emphasized, "In the new AI era, Samsung will show a transformation from devices I control to devices that 'understand and adapt to me'."
At this IFA, Samsung Electronics targeted the European market, unveiling a large number of new products and features such as AI TVs, AI appliances, and AI mobile phones. The new 2025 model robot vacuum cleaner, scheduled for release in the second half of this year, is equipped with IR LED sensors to recognize even colorless transparent liquids. Through the Vision AI Companion, it provides content information being screened on TV through natural conversation with the user and offers appropriate answers to various questions.
The 'Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra' and 'Galaxy Tab S11' based on One UI 8, as well as the budget lineup 'Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition)', were also unveiled. Samsung Electronics is currently leading the European smartphone market, surpassing Apple, with its AI-based Galaxy S25 series and foldable phones. The 'Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra', the thinnest in the Galaxy Tab series, but equipped with powerful performance, became a hot topic on site. Samsung Electronics aims to further solidify its No. 1 position in the European smartphone market with the 'S25 FE'.
