[Financial News] President Lee Jaemyung and First Lady Kim Hyekyung invited three children who wrote and sent hand-written letters directly to the President, along with their families, to the Presidential Office on the 4th, as announced by Deputy Spokesperson Jeon Eunsu of the Presidential Office in a written briefing.
This invitation was realized by the directive of President Lee, who personally read the children's letters. The hand-written letters sent by the children contained pure sentiments expressing gratitude to President Lee for preventing martial law and stopping broadcasts to North Korea.
The invited children became spokespersons in the briefing room before meeting the President, giving briefings and answering questions from reporters. They also experienced the President's daily schedule in the Cabinet meeting room.
Afterward, the children and their families visited the office. President Lee and First Lady Kim warmly welcomed the children at the office entrance.
President Lee then spent time talking with the children. He expressed his delight, saying, "I read your letters thoroughly and really wanted to meet you," and signed books in fields the children are interested in, such as the "Nanjung Ilgi" and science comic books, to give as gifts.
One child asked an innocent question like, "Have you ever lost an election for class president?" to which President Lee laughed and replied, "I have lost elections as an adult, but I never ran for class president when I was young."
Another child asked, "When is it most challenging or joyful as a President?" President Lee answered, "It's most challenging when there are things to protect but no strength to do so, and meeting you all now is the most joyful moment."
Concluding the event, President Lee and First Lady Kim hugged the children and encouraged them to achieve their dreams.
