[Financial News] Law Firm Taepyeongyang announced on the 4th that it has recruited former Deputy Minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination Kim Jong-moon (vice-minister level) as an advisor.
Advisor Kim, a representative bureaucrat who led regulatory improvement policies while working exclusively in the Prime Minister's Office for over 30 years, will now be responsible for consulting on legislation, regulation, policy response, and government relations (GR) in the Taepyeongyang Regulatory Group.
After graduating from Korea University with a degree in Public Administration, Advisor Kim obtained a Master's in Public Administration from Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration and a Master's in International Development from Duke University in the USA. He entered public service by passing the 37th Administrative Examination in 1993 with top honors in the General Administration category and has held key positions such as Director of Planning and Coordination Policy, Director of Regulatory Coordination Policy, and Director of Regulatory Coordination. He also has experience working as a Minister at the Singapore Embassy from 2019 to 2022.
Particularly noted for his driving force in executing ideas and his ability to coordinate current issues, Advisor Kim was appointed as the Secretary for National Agenda at the Presidential Office in 2023 and as the Deputy Minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination in 2024, overseeing major government policies. He led the establishment of the Regulatory Tribunal, the Regulatory Innovation Strategy Meeting, and the Regulatory Innovation Promotion Team, laying the foundation for the development of new industries.
Taepyeongyang expects that with Advisor Kim's joining, it will be able to proactively address institutional uncertainties arising in the new industry sector and provide tailored solutions for companies. Woo Byeong-ryeol, head of the Taepyeongyang Regulatory Group, said, "With the recruitment of Kim Jong-moon, a representative expert in regulatory improvement, we can provide the highest level of consultation to solve the concerns of companies pursuing new businesses."
