[Financial News] A district council member has been sent to the prosecution on charges of detaining a female district office employee in a meeting room.
On the 3rd, the police announced that they had transferred Shin, a member of the Seoul Mapo District Council, who was accused of abuse of authority, obstruction of business, and detention, to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office on the 18th of last month. The police attached an opinion that all charges were acknowledged.
Shin visited a local sports center in April and demanded resident usage information and payment details. When the responsible employee refused, saying "Personal information cannot be provided without an official document," Shin allegedly blocked entry for over 2 hours in the meeting room, saying "I won't leave until I receive the data."
It is reported that the center employee claimed to have felt humiliated because a male employee of Shin accompanied her even when going to the restroom.
Meanwhile, Shin explained, "I was only waiting until the official document arrived due to concerns about data manipulation," and "I didn't know it would take so long to issue the document."
