[Financial News] In Gwangju, a man in his 30s was caught by the police after crashing into a roadside tree while driving in a state of intoxication equivalent to license cancellation during the day. The passenger is also unlikely to avoid punishment for aiding and abetting drunk driving.
According to the Gwangju Bukbu Police Station on the 3rd, Mr. A (in his 30s) crashed into a roadside tree while driving near Chungjangsa, Mudeungsan National Park, Geumgok-dong, Buk-gu, around 1:06 PM the previous day. At the time, Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration exceeded the license cancellation standard.
Due to this accident, Mr. A and the passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the drunk driving, believing that Mr. A took the wheel after having a meal with alcohol at a nearby restaurant just before the accident.
The police plan to secure Mr. A's custody for investigation as soon as he is discharged. Additionally, they are considering applying charges of aiding and abetting drunk driving to the passenger.
