'Sewol Ferry Survivor' Claimant in His 50s Causes Self-Harm Incident in Front of Presidential Office

Charged with Possession of a Weapon in Public
Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced on the 2nd that they arrested a man in his 50s, Mr. A, as a flagrant offender for possession of a weapon in a public place the previous day.
Mr. A caused a commotion around 7 PM the previous day near the main gate of the Ministry of National Defense, close to the Presidential Office, by injuring himself with a weapon. There were no acts of harm to others during this process.
The police subdued Mr. A with a taser and arrested him as a flagrant offender.
Mr. A, who received hospital treatment, was investigated by the police and reportedly had a meeting with a Presidential Office official.
A police official stated, "There were no other casualties as it was limited to self-harm," and added, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident."
