Officer in Civilian Clothes, Head Bleeding Marks... Military "No Criminal Circumstances"
[Financial News] An Army captain was found dead with a gunshot wound in the Suseong Lake area, a place frequented by Daegu citizens. A military K-2 rifle was found at the scene, and the military authorities and police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
According to the military and police on the 2nd, a report was received at around 6:29 a.m. that a man in his 30s was lying behind the public restroom at Suseong Lake in Daegu Suseong District. The person found was an Army captain belonging to a direct unit in the Gyeongbuk region, who was wearing civilian clothes instead of a military uniform. Traces of bleeding were confirmed on the head.
A rifle presumed to be a military K-2 was found at the scene, and the military authorities immediately collected it. A military official stated, "There are no criminal suspicions, and we plan to verify the circumstances of the firearm's removal and the exact cause of death."
The military and police are operating a cooperative system to precisely investigate the officer's whereabouts and the process of the incident.
