Amid Concerns Over Chinese Robot Vacuum Cleaner Data Leaks
Samsung Electronics Robot Vacuum Cleaner IoT Security Certification Highest Grade
Samsung Electronics Robot Vacuum Cleaner IoT Security Certification Highest Grade
Following the 'Bespoke AI Family Hub', 'Bespoke AI Hybrid', and 'Bespoke AI Hybrid Kitchen Fit Max' refrigerators released in the first half of this year, the new 2025 model robot vacuum cleaner also obtained the highest grade 'Standard' certification, objectively proving its security performance. KISA's IoT security certification is a system that evaluates whether IoT devices in daily life, such as robot vacuum cleaners, home cams, and smart appliances, are safely protected from personal information hacking or external threats and grants certification grades.
Samsung Electronics was the first in the country to obtain the Standard grade with the 'Bespoke AI Steam' robot vacuum cleaner, first introduced last year, and Samsung Electronics is currently the only company holding the Standard grade. The new 2025 model 'Bespoke AI Steam' robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with enhanced security solutions. Samsung's proprietary security solution, Samsung Knox, as well as the newly integrated 'Knox Matrix' Trust Chain technology, monitors the security status of devices connected through SmartThings and detects and blocks threats. Additionally, 'Knox Vault', which stores sensitive personal information such as passwords, authentication information, and encryption keys in a separate hardware security chip, is also equipped to thoroughly protect users' personal information.
The 2025 Bespoke AI Steam new product will be exhibited at 'IFA 2025' held in Berlin, Germany from the 5th (local time), and is scheduled to be released within the year. Meanwhile, KISA announced that it has signed a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) with Singapore for IoT security certification, allowing the security certification to be effective in Singapore without separate certification tests, and plans to expand the mutual certification target countries in the future.
