[Financial News] Lotte Fine Chemical announced on the 2nd that its 2024 Sustainability Management Report won the Platinum (Grand Prize) for the fourth consecutive year at the 'Vision Awards' hosted by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP).
The Vision Awards is a prestigious global awards ceremony in the field of sustainability reports, with over 1,000 companies worldwide participating since 2001. Lotte Fine Chemical proved its report competitiveness by winning in a total of 5 categories, including the Grand Prize in the Chemical Sector, 37th in the Worldwide Top 100 Reports, and 17th in the Asia-Pacific Top 100 Reports.
This report includes achievements in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management, expansion of high value-added specialty product lines, and eco-friendly business strategies. In particular, they plan to complete the expansion of the cellulose plant for food and pharmaceutical use within the year to strengthen the production capacity of plant-based pharmaceutical materials that can replace animal-based materials. They also plan to accelerate the expansion of carbon-reducing fuels such as clean ammonia by participating in the government-led Clean Hydrogen Power Generation Bidding (CHPS) project.
The participatory campaign 'QR Donation' through QR codes is also in its third year. By scanning the QR code in the report, Lotte Fine Chemical makes donations based on the number of participants, with over 200,000 people having participated so far. The donations have been used for various global social contribution activities, such as livelihood support for the Türkiye earthquake and planting trees to prevent desertification in Mongolia. This year, they plan to deliver relief funds to the earthquake-affected areas in Myanmar.
Seungwon Jeong, CEO of Lotte Fine Chemical, said, "We are pleased to have won the Grand Prize for four consecutive years at a globally prestigious awards ceremony," adding, "The efforts to enhance ESG standards and transition the business focus to eco-friendly and high value-added businesses have been effectively conveyed."
