'Kim Geon-hee Solicitation Suspicion' Former Unification Church Executive Trial Begins in Earnest from 17th

[Financial News] The trial for former Unification Church World Headquarters Director Yoon Young-ho, accused of delivering luxury goods to Kim Geon-hee through Jeonseong Bae and soliciting church issues, will begin in mid-month.
According to the legal community on the 1st, the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Agreement Division 27 (Chief Judge Woo In-seong) will hold a preparatory hearing on the 17th at 4 PM for Yoon, who is accused of violating the Anti-Graft Act and embezzlement. Yoon was arrested on July 30 by the Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Team (Min Jung-gi Special Prosecutor).
Yoon is accused of delivering a Graff necklace and Chanel bag, labeled as 'for Kim Geon-hee's gift,' along with church issues to Jeonseong Bae between April and August 2022. The solicitation included △various events for settling in New Africa △hosting the UN's 5th Secretariat in Korea △Cambodia Mekong Peace Park (development support) project △installation of a peace park in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
Although not included in the indictment, Yoon is also suspected of meeting with Kwon Seong-dong, a member of the People Power Party, and delivering 100 million won in illegal political funds. It was later confirmed by the special prosecutor team that Yoon, along with Jeon, systematically registered church members as party members to help elect Kwon.
