[Financial News] LG Electronics announced on the 1st that it will introduce an integrated AI home solution at 'IFA 2025', Europe's largest home appliance exhibition held in Berlin, Germany on the 5th of this month, connecting AI appliances and IoT devices inside and outside the home with the AI home hub 'LG ThinQ ON'.
LG ThinQ ON is an AI home hub equipped with generative AI that converses with customers, understands context, and learns and predicts living patterns to automatically create the optimal environment. For example, when a customer says "I'm going to sleep now," ThinQ ON understands everyday expressions and suggests and executes an appropriate sleep routine, such as controlling lights and curtains, adjusting air conditioner temperature, and switching the air purifier to silent mode. It also remembers and executes multiple complex commands at once, such as "Turn off the air conditioner, run the robot vacuum, and turn on the dehumidifier in an hour" when going out.
It supports various connection methods such as Wi-Fi and Thread and has obtained Matter certification, an open smart home integration standard, for broad connectivity. In particular, LG Electronics will present a more concrete AI home experience by showcasing 9 'LG IoT Devices' to be launched within the year along with ThinQ ON at this exhibition.
LG IoT Devices include △Smart Door Lock △Voice Controller △Smart Button △Smart Plug △Smart Light Switch △Air Quality Sensor △Temperature and Humidity Sensor △Door Sensor △Motion and Light Sensor. They can be conveniently controlled at once through the ThinQ application (app). With a neat design that fits well in any space and convenient usability, they have won awards at the Red Dot and iF Design Awards, which are considered the world's top three design awards.
Customers who have installed voice controllers in each room can control appliances and IoT devices from anywhere in the house centered around the ThinQ ON in the living room and receive operation completion notifications, etc. News, weather, schedules, etc. can also be easily checked. When a child opens the door and enters the house through the smart door lock, a notification is sent to the guardian, and the air conditioner and air purifier can be automatically operated according to the routine set by the customer in advance. Complex operations such as turning off all lights while operating the mood light and air purifier during sleep can also be executed at once with a smart button.
Even appliances without smart functions can be remotely controlled through ThinQ IoT and ThinQ ON. If you connect a smart plug to a hairdryer or fan, you can remotely turn off the power even if you forget and go out, and if you install a smart light switch, you can easily turn the lights on and off by voice or remotely.
LG Electronics plans to showcase an expanded AI home experience at IFA 2025 with a concept car 'Spielraum' that combines AI appliances and IoT devices with vehicles, redefining customers' lifestyles and mobility.
Jeong Ki-hyun, Head of LG Electronics HS Platform Business Center (Vice President), said, "'LG ThinQ ON' equipped with generative AI is the core of an integrated AI home solution that will revolutionize customers' lives," and "We will lead the AI home era that evolves with customers by connecting and controlling appliances and IoT devices as one."
