Investigation Team and Arrest Group Involved Mentioned... Urging Full Review by Ministry of National Defense

[Financial News] It has been pointed out that officers involved in the emergency martial law situation of December 3 were included in the promotion of military lieutenant colonels, which was conducted for the first time after the new government was inaugurated.
The Military Human Rights Center held a press conference in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the 1st, claiming, "Among the list of lieutenant colonel promotion candidates announced on the 28th of last month, there are individuals who should be investigated for treason charges."
The center cited Major No from the military police branch as an example, explaining, "He was a member of the 'Investigation Team 2', known as Nosangwon's private organization, and was an individual who even received a general order from the Ministry of National Defense during the coup." Regarding another promotion candidate, Major Kang, it was revealed, "He was involved as the head of the investigation situation room of the Ministry of National Defense during the coup, and testimony emerged during the trial that he participated in preparing the support list for the arrest team of politicians."
The center also pointed out that if some field-grade officers belonging to the Special Warfare Command and the Capital Defense Command are included, there is a significant possibility that many coup participants are included. They demanded, "Instead of clearing the coup, they have opened the way for promotion to participants," and insisted, "The Ministry of National Defense must fully review the list of promotion candidates."
Im Tae-hoon, director of the Military Human Rights Center, stated, "If related individuals were not excluded even in the first officer personnel, the same problem could be repeated in the colonel personnel," and expressed concern, "Isn't the Ministry of National Defense rewarding constitution destroyers?"
