[Financial News] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 31st that it will host the 'IRIS Improvement Idea Contest' to make the Integrated Research Support System ('IRIS') more convenient for researchers.
This contest is part of efforts to improve IRIS into a researcher-centered system. Under the slogan 'Researchers Change IRIS Themselves!', it targets researchers and research support personnel who are currently using or planning to participate in IRIS. The contest is divided into two categories: 'New Functionality', which proposes new features that did not exist before, and 'Function Improvement', which aims to enhance existing features to increase work efficiency. Participants can choose one of the two categories to apply. Applications will be accepted from September 1 to October 10 (Friday) for about 40 days.
Proposed ideas will be selected through document (first round) and presentation (second round) evaluations, focusing on the topic's relevance, logical structure, unique creativity, and feasibility of implementation. A total of 12 winners will be selected: 2 Gold Prize winners (Minister of Science and ICT Award and a prize of 1 million won), 2 Silver Prize winners (prize of 700,000 won), 4 Bronze Prize winners (each prize of 300,000 won), and 4 Encouragement Prize winners (each prize of 100,000 won). Notably, excellent ideas will be reviewed internally and reflected in the actual IRIS system improvements.
Details on how to apply for the contest and the proposal form can be found on the website of the National Science and Technology Human Resources Development Institute (KIRD).
