Jointly produced by related agencies... Provides checklist
Compilation of precautions for each stage of the contract

[Financial News] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 28th that it has published a 'Comprehensive Guide to Prevent Lease Fraud' containing essential items to check during the lease contract process and major types of lease (fraud) damages to prevent lease fraud for prospective tenants.
The guide is based on actual damage cases. △Precautions for each stage of the lease contract △Countermeasures in case of damage △Types of damage were compiled. As an appendix, a safe lease contract checklist is provided.
The checklist was produced in collaboration with related agencies such as the National Police Agency and the Korea Association of Realtors as a follow-up measure to the meeting of ministers presided over by the Prime Minister last July, enhancing reliability and practicality.
The checklist is designed to help prospective tenants prevent damage during the lease contract process by focusing on three key items to check before, during, and after the contract (Safe Contract 3·3·3 Rule).
The checklist is composed of one sheet, front and back, of essential items to check during the lease contract process, allowing prospective tenants to carry it. It also includes a QR code at the top to download the guide.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has recently conducted consultations with related agencies to ensure that citizens can receive the checklist in physical form when visiting community centers, banks, and real estate offices for lease-related matters. Additionally, they are continuously seeking cooperation with private companies and public institutions to ensure the checklist is consistently displayed on the main screens of online platforms.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is closely coordinating with the Korea Association of Realtors to include lease fraud prevention and checklist-related items in the statutory education for realtors and to ensure that realtors can check the checklist items with prospective tenants.
Lee Seong-su, head of the Investigation Support Team at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "We hope that citizens will thoroughly check the essential items through the prevention guide and checklist when looking for rental homes to avoid unfortunate damages."
