GS E&C, Patent Application for AI Structural Document Review System

[Financial News] GS E&C announced on the 27th that it has completed a patent application for an AI-based design drawing review system, which was introduced for the first time in the construction industry as a pilot on-site for structural design document review.
This technology automates drawing review and comparison based on a large language model (LLM). AI recognizes design drawings, structures them, and quickly and accurately searches for errors. It also automatically manages the history of changes by comparing existing drawings with updated ones.
In the existing method, there was a risk of discrepancies or errors between documents due to the numerous entities writing structural documents and frequent design changes. GS E&C, in collaboration with the AI solution specialist startup 'Teamwork', has been promoting system development since 2024 to solve these problems, and has completed pilot application and patent application on-site this year.
GS E&C developed this technology with the goal of preventing potential risks of construction errors and implementing a safe construction environment. In the future, the application range will be expanded to the construction stage, including AI-based design adequacy review, drones, and robot-linked automatic rebar detection.
A GS E&C representative stated, "We plan to actively introduce AI technology in repetitive or high-risk tasks to prevent human errors and industrial accidents, and to strengthen structural safety throughout the entire process from design to construction."
