Delivering Cooling Kits to Merchants and Promoting Traditional Market Consumption with Onnuri Gift Certificates
[Financial News] The Small Business Market Promotion Corporation announced on the 27th that it conducted labor-management joint environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activities on the 26th at Jeonju Sinjungang Market to prevent heat-related illnesses among merchants and promote consumption.
This activity was prepared in connection with the 'Sogonsogon Meeting' held monthly by Sojin Gong in each region. About 20 union members and employees participated, and they delivered 50 sets of cooling kits made with a mutual growth fund created by voluntary salary deductions from employees to the Merchants Association. The kits consist of four types: neck coolers, cool sleeves, towels, etc.
Additionally, employees and the union held a shopping event at Onnuri Gift Certificate affiliated stores to promote traditional market consumption and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Park Seong-hyo, chairman of Sojin Gong, said, "I hope it will be a small help for merchants exposed to extreme heat in the summer to have a cool summer," adding, "We will continue to expand social contribution activities that labor and management can do together with the local community."
Sojin Gong has been continuing community support activities, such as delivering relief supplies to flood sites declared as special disaster areas earlier this month. They plan to continue expanding labor-management joint social contribution activities linked to monthly meetings in the future.
