[Financial News] LG Electronics announced on the 27th that it will present AI-based high-efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions at the '2025 Climate Industry International Expo' held at BEXCO in Busan until the 29th.
The Climate Industry International Expo is a global event jointly organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the International Energy Agency (IEA), and the World Bank (WB), discussing advanced technologies and policy solutions for responding to the climate crisis and achieving carbon neutrality. This year, under the theme 'Energy for AI & AI for Energy', it highlights the role AI will play in building sustainable energy systems.
LG Electronics has set up a space to experience customized HVAC solutions for residential, public, and commercial facilities in a booth of about 270 square meters (㎡).
At the entrance of the booth, the system air conditioners 'Multi V i' and 'Multi V S' with AI engines are placed. The AI engine detects changes in indoor and outdoor temperatures to automatically adjust the cooling intensity, and when the indoor environment becomes comfortable, it switches to power-saving mode to enhance energy efficiency. In particular, the Multi V i achieves up to 7.2% higher efficiency compared to the existing 'Multi V Super5', proving its carbon emission reduction effect.
As a residential solution, it introduces the ‘Whisen AI System Air Conditioner’. This product learns the user's preferred temperature with the AI wind function for automatic control. When the indoor temperature is high, it quickly cools with strong wind and then switches to a gentle soft wind to maintain comfort while reducing power usage. The soft wind can reduce power consumption by up to 76% compared to regular strong wind.
As a public solution, the ‘4-way System Air Conditioner’ that reduces plastic usage draws attention. This product has been verified by the global certification body TUV Rheinland to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 14.85 kilograms (kgCO₂eq, the value converted to carbon dioxide emissions) per unit during the manufacturing process.
The commercial solution features a commercial stand air conditioner, the only one among domestic 40-pyeong products to achieve the highest energy efficiency grade 1.
The high-efficiency competitiveness of LG Electronics' air conditioning system stems from core technologies such as inverters, compressors, and motors. In particular, inverter technology converts the motion speed of the motor and compressor to operate the product only as much as needed according to the situation, minimizing energy waste. Additionally, LG Electronics introduces the Building Management Solution (BMS) that integrates the management of various facilities within a building and the BECON system where AI analyzes the temperature and power usage in real-time for automatic control.
In response to the globally strengthening carbon emission regulations, LG Electronics is expanding its products by launching the ‘Inverter Scroll Chiller’ that applies R32 refrigerant, which has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of about 30% compared to the existing refrigerant (R410A).
Jae-Sung Lee, Vice President and Head of the Eco-Solution (ES) Division at LG Electronics, said, "We will continue to expand high-efficiency HVAC solutions based on LG Electronics' AI technology and core tech to contribute to the realization of global carbon neutrality."
