[Financial News] Toss Insight announced on the 26th that it has published its first report 'Stablecoin: The Rise of New Financial Infrastructure'.
Toss Insight is the financial management research institute of Viva Republica (Toss), established in September last year. It analyzes financial-related policies and studies trends, focusing on the fintech industry.
This report is planned as a total of three parts. The report views stablecoins as a new task where financial policy and private innovation intersect, rather than just a virtual asset. Amid discussions on the stability and development direction of the financial system at a global level, it started from the awareness of the need to organize facts and establish a coordinate system. To this end, it comprehensively covered the structure and operating principles of stablecoins by cross-applying perspectives from monetary theory, financial economics, and industrial organization theory.
The report organizes the definition and main characteristics of stablecoins, and then examines the market status and expansion background. Furthermore, it analyzes the three value chains of stablecoins: △ infrastructure industry △ issuance and distribution industry △ application solution industry. It then broadly highlights real cases and regulatory trends of global issuers and financial companies.
Through this report, Toss Insight has balanced the opportunities and challenges of stablecoins. In particular, it is expected to contribute to the preparation of policy and industrial response strategies needed in the digital currency era by providing analysis and insights that can be referenced by policy authorities, financial institutions, and research fields.
Hong Ki-hoon, head of Toss Insight Research Institute, said, "Stablecoins are gaining attention as an important link connecting the existing financial system and the digital economy," and "I hope the report will be used as a basic resource in designing constructive discussions and policy responses to stablecoins."
Meanwhile, starting with this report, the series will be completed by sequentially publishing 'Regulation and Supervision Edition' and 'Business Strategy Edition' of stablecoins.
