[Financial News] LG Innotek has rolled up its sleeves to secure global talents to enhance future business competitiveness.
LG Innotek announced on the 26th that it recently held an overseas talent recruitment event called 'Inno Connect' at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, USA. The event was attended by over 30 PhD and experienced talents from 14 major U.S. universities, including MIT, Berkeley, Georgia Tech, and the University of Illinois.
'Inno Connect' is a recruitment-linked event where LG Innotek invites outstanding talents from prestigious U.S. universities to introduce the company's vision and technology leadership. Key executives and officers also participate to directly meet and communicate with local talents, actively securing outstanding personnel to lead future businesses.
Inno Connect was first held in San Francisco last year and is being held for the second time this year. This event was attended by key executives responsible for LG Innotek's R&D, including CTO Noh Seung-won.
The main research areas of the attending talents are autonomous driving, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics, which are closely related to LG Innotek's future growth engines. It aligns with the strategy to expand the business portfolio from smartphones to various areas such as autonomous driving, AI, and robotics. This is interpreted as a move to accelerate the promotion of future businesses through continuous securing of global outstanding talents.
At this event, LG Innotek researchers introduced next-generation technology trends and development status, such as AI optical imaging systems and sensing technology for future vehicles and robots, which garnered great interest from attendees. In addition, sessions were held where executives and attending talents discussed topics such as the company's mid-to-long-term strategy, technology roadmap, and expert nurturing policies.
Noh Seung-won, CTO, who attended the event, said, "LG Innotek, as a core partner of top-tier global customers, has established a research environment and nurturing system where world-class talents can demonstrate their capabilities in various fields based on accumulated global business experience," and "Please unfold your dreams at LG Innotek, which continues to present differentiated customer value to realize the vision of our customers."
Meanwhile, LG Innotek has been focusing on securing overseas outstanding talents through various systems and programs due to the overwhelming proportion of global business. As of the first half of this year, about 95% of LG Innotek's total sales were generated from overseas sales to global customers.
To strengthen global business capabilities, LG Innotek actively operates a 'Global Internship' targeting foreign students and Korean students at domestic and overseas universities and graduate schools every year. Excellent interns are hired as full-time employees.
Additionally, LG Innotek's Vietnam corporation, a major overseas production base, has signed MOUs with major local universities such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh Polytechnic University, operating various recruitment-linked programs such as contract departments, internships, and career guidance. In September, they plan to hold 'OptechCon,' a technology conference inviting talents in the optical field, in Vietnam. soup@fnnews.com Im Subin Reporter
