[Financial News] It was confirmed on the 25th that Lee Ji-hyung, Deputy Chief of Busan District Prosecutors' Office (Judicial Research and Training Institute 33rd class), and Kim Seung-ho, Chief of Criminal Division 1 of Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Judicial Research and Training Institute 33rd class), who are suspected of conducting politically biased investigations under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, recently expressed their intention to resign. This is interpreted as being influenced by the personnel appointments of high-ranking prosecutors (deputy chief and chief prosecutors) conducted by the Ministry of Justice on the 21st.
Deputy Chief Lee led the investigation team dedicated to the allegations against Myung Tae-kyun at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and Chief Kim was the prosecutor who decided not to prosecute in the luxury handbag case involving Mrs. Kim Geon-hee. In the personnel appointments on the 21st, Deputy Chief Lee was transferred to the Daejeon High Prosecutors' Office, and Chief Kim was transferred to the Busan High Prosecutors' Office.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Kim Jong-hyun, Director of Public Investigation Planning at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office (Judicial Research and Training Institute 33rd class), who investigated the 'lawyer fee payment allegation' case involving President Lee Jae-myung, also recently expressed his intention to resign.
