DL Construction Wins 'Hongcheon Pumped Storage Power Plant Construction Project' from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power... Scale of 184.6 Billion

[Financial News] DL Construction announced that it has won the civil engineering contract for the Hongcheon Pumped Storage Power Plant Units 1 and 2, ordered by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power on the 25th.
In this project, DL Construction participated as part of the Daewoo Construction Consortium (Daewoo Construction, DL Construction, Hyosung). DL Construction's stake is 30%, with the contract amounting to approximately 184.6 billion won.
The Hongcheon Pumped Storage Power Plant Construction Project is a large-scale national project being pursued in Pungcheon-ri, Hwacheon-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. It is a project to build a pumped storage power plant with a total facility capacity of 600MW, scheduled for completion in December 2032.
The scope of the project includes the construction of upper and lower dams, △ underground power plant △ power waterway △ various tunnels △ access roads to the upper site. The main structures consist of an upper dam (height 92.4m, length 564.2m), a lower dam (height 66.5m, length 320.0m), and one set of power waterway and underground power plant.
Pumped storage generates electricity by storing water in an upper reservoir during times of low power demand and releasing it to the lower reservoir when demand surges. It complements the intermittency of renewable energy and enhances grid stability.
A DL Construction representative stated, "This project is an important national project that can simultaneously achieve the expansion of renewable energy and grid stabilization," and added, "As a member of the consortium, DL Construction will prioritize safety and carry out the construction without any issues, contributing to the expansion of the national energy infrastructure."
Meanwhile, DL Construction is expected to consecutively win various projects in the second half of this year, including △ Hongcheon Pumped Storage Power Plant Units 1 and 2 △ Gwangmyeong Siheung Public Housing District S2-4·6BL △ Seongnam Area Electrical Supply Power Grid Construction.
