'Now Brief' and Other New One UI Features Offered
[Financial News] Samsung Electronics announced on the 25th that it will conduct a software update applying One UI to AI appliances released after 2024. The update is scheduled to begin in September.
Samsung Electronics plans to establish an ecosystem where useful software functions can be used integratively across various devices such as mobile, TV, and appliances through this AI appliance One UI application. Since various application (app) services such as Gallery, Bixby, and Samsung TV Plus in AI appliances support the same UI as mobile and TV, users can enjoy a consistent user experience across Samsung Electronics products.
This One UI update also upgrades various AI functions provided by existing appliances and expands the range of applicable devices.
Refrigerators with Family Hub and 'AI Home' touchscreens will support the 'Now Brief' function, which automatically recommends customized information based on the user's location, time, and usage habits.
The method of calling 'Bixby' from the refrigerator also diversifies. In addition to the existing "Hi Bixby" call method, Bixby can also be called by tapping the refrigerator screen twice. △'Voice ID' providing user-customized functions such as schedule, photo, and accessibility settings by recognizing and distinguishing voices △'AI Vision Inside 2.0' function automatically recognizing 37 types of fresh food will be expanded to screen-equipped refrigerators released after 2024.
Samsung's unique security solution 'Knox' will also be applied to more appliances. 'Knox Matrix', which provides threat detection and protection functions between devices connected to SmartThings based on blockchain technology, will be expanded to various product lines such as 2024 model refrigerators and washing machines equipped with Wi-Fi functions.
For appliances such as refrigerators and washer-dryers equipped with 32-inch and 7-inch screens, the 'Knox Dashboard' function, which allows you to check the security status of connected mobile, TV, and appliance devices at a glance, is also equipped.
Samsung Electronics will support free One UI upgrades for up to 7 years for appliance products equipped with Wi-Fi functions released after 2024, allowing customers to continuously enjoy new AI functions and strong security performance throughout the product usage cycle.
