Chairman Chey, when asked about his determination as a member of the delegation at around 12 PM at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, said, "I will do my best."
Kim Dong-kwan, Vice Chairman of Hanwha Group, and Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG Group, who arrived shortly after, also completed their departure procedures.
This economic delegation to the US consists of a total of 15 members. It includes Chey Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Economic Association and Chairman of Poongsan, Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan, Cho Won-tae, Chairman of Hanjin Group, Jung Ki-sun, Senior Vice Chairman of HD Hyundai, Park Ji-won, Chairman of Doosan Enerbility, Seo Jeong-jin, Chairman of Celltrion Group, Hur Tae-soo, Chairman of GS Group, Koo Ja-eun, Chairman of LS Group, Choi Yoon-beom, Chairman of Korea Zinc, and Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver.
Chung Eui-sun, who is currently on a business trip abroad, is expected to join the delegation in the US. Previously, US President Donald Trump announced the conclusion of the Korea-US trade negotiations, stating, "The amount of Korea's investment in the US will be announced during a bilateral meeting at the White House within two weeks."
