John Sorrington, LAFC's general manager, recently stated in an interview with a British media outlet, "Son Heung-min's jersey was the best seller across all sports worldwide in the week following his signing." It surpassed Lionel Messi, LeBron James, and Shohei Ohtani.
The price is 195 dollars, approximately 270,000 KRW. It's not cheap. However, fans didn't mind. The black and gold LAFC jersey with the 'EPL top scorer's' name and number sold like hotcakes, and currently, the online shop only accepts back orders with the note 'Shipping after September 13'. It's practically sold out.


It's not just jersey sales. Ticket prices have also skyrocketed. The home debut match of Son Heung-min scheduled for September 1. Just a month ago, the lowest price was around 50 dollars, but it has already jumped to 200 dollars, and some good view seats in the main stand are being traded for as much as 5,265 dollars (about 7,310,000 KRW).
The remarkable 'Son Heung-min effect' has also excited the LA Tourism Board. They have started full-scale activities to attract Korean tourists. "The league has changed since Son Heung-min arrived." The fans' words are not an exaggeration. And Son Heung-min is proving it with his skills, recording a goal and an assist in just three games.
