[Financial News] "We will open a world of robots that provide benefits and convenience to people."
Lee Jinseong, CEO of KFUTURETECH, stated on the 24th, "We are working to create a robot company that can make a mark in the delivery market," adding, "We are challenging the dream of 'Last mile' delivery where robots deliver to the doorstep."
CEO Lee, who received a master's degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Incheon University, joined Gaon Group as an engineer in 2006. After successfully managing various global projects in software development, he rose to the position of Research Director in 2016. He joined as CEO during the establishment of KFUTURETECH, a robot specialized company, by Gaon Group in 2021.
CEO Lee said, "The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge in demand for non-face-to-face services, and Gaon Group has also focused on the potential of the robot field as a future growth area," explaining that "KFUTURETECH was launched to specialize in related businesses by integrating AI solutions accumulated by Gaon Group over a long period."
CEO Lee faced initial challenges in the establishment of KFUTURETECH. Due to not considering floor leveling or installation environments, robots could not even overcome small thresholds. Therefore, the robot design was redone from scratch. After years of continuous research and development (R&D), they were able to implement solutions to overcome bumps and speed bumps.
CEO Lee emphasized, "Many delivery robots often face issues where wheels get stuck in gaps during elevator boarding," adding, "Our robots have driving technology that allows them to naturally climb not only ramps but also bumps with gaps."
He added, "By modularizing the drive unit, various robots desired by customers can be created in a short time, and costs can also be reduced."
KFUTURETECH recently supplied the AI autonomous service robot 'RODY' to a 5-star hotel in Seoul. They plan to apply the service robot 'MARS', which includes advertising broadcasting and dish collection functions, to various commercial spaces such as cafes, hospitals, and restaurants.
In particular, KFUTURETECH plans to release a 'Robot Control System' incorporating proprietary technology and ideas in the fourth quarter. This system allows for convenience and precise control in robot operation. It also has versatility, allowing integration with competitor robot application programming interfaces (APIs) in addition to robots made by KFUTURETECH.
CEO Lee stated, "The Robot Control System will assist in efficient delivery by helping with natural robot operation and optimal route finding," adding, "We will open the market so that various robots can freely deliver by obtaining elevator boarding safety evaluations."
He continued, "With aging and labor issues arising, the introduction of service robots will accelerate further," adding, "Although there is still a negative perception of the coexistence of humans and robots, we will contribute to changing the perception of convenience by proactively and challengingly opening the market."
