As of 1:40 PM, the KOSPI is up 19.95p (0.63%) from the previous trading day, pointing to 3161.69. The index rose to 3181.95 (1.28%) in the early session and is maintaining a strong consolidation.
In the stock market, foreigners and institutions are net buying 179.9 billion won and 98.8 billion won, respectively. On the other hand, individuals are showing a net selling dominance of 360 billion won.
Samsung Electronics is maintaining the 70,000 won level, and SK Hynix is showing a 1.73% upward trend. Among them, Hanwha Aerospace is showing a strong rise of 6%.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is 779.02, up 1.78p (0.23%) from the previous session.
Kang Jin-hyuk, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp, said, "The KOSPI has recovered to the 3160 level as 18 out of the top 20 market cap stocks rose due to net buying by foreigners and institutions," adding, "In addition to bargain hunting, expectations are being reintroduced into leading stocks such as shipbuilding, defense, and nuclear power ahead of the Korea-U.S. summit on the 25th." He continued, "Power equipment is showing a strong rise of 6% as HD Hyundai Electric is influenced by President Donald Trump's mention of the need to expand power capacity to maintain the AI super gap."
