[Financial News] Advanced materials specialist IL announced on the 22nd that it has officially acquired the automotive industry quality management system certification 'IATF 16949:2016' from the international certification body 'URS (United Registrar of Systems)'.
IATF 16949 is the highest level of quality standard required by major global automotive manufacturers. Companies that acquire this certification are qualified to enter the global automotive supply chain.
Through this certification, IL has demonstrated quality management, production capacity, and delivery reliability. IATF 16949 requires compliance with strict quality management systems, product safety including production facilities, process management, technical reliability, customer requirement fulfillment, and delivery history.
IL's newly certified silicone lens technology is expected to be used as a key material for lamp components by global automotive manufacturers. It has been officially recognized that its manufacturing capabilities meet the core requirements for entering the global complete vehicle supply chain, and it is expected to have a direct impact on expanding new orders and increasing the proportion of overseas sales.
IL plans to accelerate new project orders and expand its electronic components business targeting North American and European complete vehicle companies by externally proving the quality reliability of its new silicone lens manufacturing process.
An IL representative stated, "The IATF 16949 certification signifies that we have secured technical reliability for expanding global partnerships," adding, "Based on our successful commercialization experience of silicone lens lamp component technology, we will complete the development of solid-state battery material anode metal sheet technology and advance as a global company based on new technology."
Meanwhile, IL is responding to the demand for upgrading and lightening automotive lamps based on its proprietary silicone lens optical technology. Through the recently completed Cheonan Plant 2, it has established a one-stop production system encompassing lenses, circuit boards (PCB), and lamp assembly.
This IATF 16949 certification adds credibility to this technology and process integration strategy, providing a foundation to meet the stringent quality requirements of global complete vehicle companies.
