Support for Improving Living Conditions for Discharged Patients, Disabled, and Elderly
[Financial News] Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) announced on the 21st that it delivered a donation of 100 million won to strengthen housing safety for vulnerable groups in the Busan area.
HUG held a donation ceremony for the 'Safe House' project at Busan City Hall on the 20th, together with Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Community Chest of Korea, Korea Self-Sufficiency Center Association Busan Branch, and Busan Self-Sufficiency Enterprise Cooperative, and donated 100 million won.
This project is being promoted to create a safe living environment and improve hygiene for discharged patients, disabled, and elderly residents in Busan who need care. It particularly focuses on helping the rehabilitation of vulnerable groups and preventing social hospitalization where individuals remain in hospitals for extended periods due to difficulties in home care.
The donated funds will be used through the Korea Self-Sufficiency Center Association Busan Branch for support such as removing thresholds within living spaces, installing safety bars and auxiliary handles for safe daily living, and enhancing hygiene through disinfection and quarantine.
Yoon Myung-kyu, Acting President of HUG, said, "I hope this support will allow individuals to focus on recovery in a safer and more hygienic environment," and added, "We will continue to work closely with Busan City to strengthen the housing safety net for vulnerable groups."
