[Financial News] Eugene Corporation announced on the 21st that it conducted safety inspections to prevent heat-related illnesses caused by heatwaves and to protect the health of on-site workers and partner company employees.
This safety inspection focused on the implementation of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Five Major Safety Rules for Heatwaves'. It aimed to check the heatwave response systems at each workplace.
Choi Jae-ho, CEO of Eugene Corporation, visited the Suwon plant of Eugene Corporation in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, on the 19th to conduct an on-site inspection of heatwave responses. He listened to the opinions of workers at the worksite. Additionally, he checked △the installation status of shades and rest facilities △the provision of cool drinking water △the distribution status of cooling vests △the guarantee of workers' rest time.
In June, Eugene Corporation prepared 'Heatwave Work Guidelines' to protect the health of on-site workers and distributed them to each business site nationwide. The guidelines include △constant measurement and recording of perceived temperature △special management of sensitive groups △adjustment of work hours and provision of rest according to heatwave stages △distribution of cooling vests and cool sleeves as protective measures for on-site workers. Especially, if the highest perceived temperature exceeds 35 degrees, enhanced management standards were prepared to ensure at least 15 minutes of rest every hour.
Furthermore, a response system was established to connect immediate first aid, 119 reporting, and transportation to medical institutions in case of heat-related illnesses. On-site workers were also educated on autonomous safety management methods through heatwave safety education, including water and salt intake, checking colleagues' health status, and immediate reporting of abnormal symptoms.
CEO Choi said, "Safety is the top priority value that cannot be compromised or negotiated under any circumstances, and heatwaves are no exception," adding, "We will continue to strengthen the on-site management system so that workers can work with peace of mind."
